Wondering where does this list of names come. Is it official?
Slovak transation: Odkial mate ten zoznam?
:D —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.99.54.233 (talk) 09:39, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Law no. 300/1993, the Law on Names and Surnames
editSection 2 paragraph 2 says:
In other words, names may not be "shameful", "non-personal", "home-names/nick-names", same name as a living sibling, wrong-gender names. These restrictions do not apply to a foreign name if it is generally known that such a name is in accordance with the the tradition of the state where it's from. The office can ask the parents to prove the use of the name abroad by confirmation of the embassy of the foreign state.
So: shameful names would be swear words etc. non-personal names would be "Video" or "Tatra" home-names would be "Petko" instead of "Peter"
There is no requirement to use names from a set list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.237.234.184 (talk) 16:47, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
