edit

Can someone please help and show me how to fix them its generated them 3 times for the same link. Nanette unsolved (talk) 12:25, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Will I just publish it and wait for mods to edit? I've tried all night to fix it should i start again also how long does it take to publish it please? I can't seem to get a clear answer in Help or any guides. Does publish mean its being reviewed. Nanette unsolved (talk) 12:26, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also how do i set the location for the dates and times I'm in Australia and its synced to U.S. time it's 10.29pm here not sure that that matters but its picking up American spelling as opposed to Australian spelling. I know this doesn't really matter but it does to me as its coming up with spelling errors and they aren't errors with Australian spelling. I've put a lot of time and effort into this article as it's an unsolved crime. Hope there is someone here to help somewhere? Nanette unsolved (talk) 12:31, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also so sorry not sure how to do this but dont want to keep creating posts on questions so putting them all here. I've posted a public domain photograph from Victorian police that is in the public domain as this is a 40 year cold case and is there to be shared. but its coming up this might not be in the public domain in other countries but it is here in the public domain. It says it's in the public domain in America but it doesn't seem to know if its public domain in Australia where I am creating it from. Yet it is and I dont want it deleted. Yes I want this global but it's not syncing with Australian laws and clarity when it is public domain and no copywrite. Nanette unsolved (talk) 12:35, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
That image was deleted from Commons by Túrelio because it was still under copyright. Could you explain in more detail why you think it's in the public domain? jlwoodwa (talk) 17:45, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia doesn't have a built-in spellchecker; if something is coming up with spelling errors, it's probably your web browser. There might be a way to set it to Australian English. Wikipedia does have a way to mark an article as using a particular English variant for spellings (in this case, {{use Australian English}}), which I've done for you. jlwoodwa (talk) 17:49, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
When you publish changes, it just saves your edits to the page. If you save your edits to a draft page, it remains a draft. Submitting an Article for Creation is a different process – one that's already happened, by the way, since your draft has been moved to mainspace. jlwoodwa (talk) 17:42, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It looks like someone has already deduplicated the citations, but in the future, if you can't do this yourself, you can tag the article with {{duplicated citations}}. jlwoodwa (talk) 17:32, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Jlwoodwa thankyou Nanette unsolved (talk) 22:29, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Nanette unsolved hey, sorry I went off for some time. orphaned articles aren't a bad thing - it just means that no articles link back to Nanette Ellis. to "unorphan" the article, just find an article that mentions nanette ellis and link it to this one Karnataka 13:06, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Karnataka thankyou good to know. but when you say find a link do you mean a wikipedia link or an external link ? because there are none on Nanette on Wikipedia.
Also how do i remove the (Learn how and when to remove these template messages) the huge exclamation mark saying my article has multiple issues. I fixed it all today but someone put it back on it looks terrible on the article Nanette unsolved (talk) 14:13, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Nanette unsolved hi, I am talking about other Wikipedia articles linking to this one.
there are three issues in the template - the first being more citations needed, you need to make sure that every statement in the article has a source in order (whether a new source or reusing an old one) to remove it.
the second is the orphan issue - just add a link to this article in another Wikipedia article to remove it.
the third is that someone (@Theroadislong) thinks that you may have a close connection with Nanette Ellis. you should contact them about when to remove that message Karnataka 18:38, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Karnataka I wonder why this just popped up about a COI ? I dont have a close connection at all with Nanette Ellis but I've been researching this for years. the reason for the Edits were as per the requests that popped up on the page and the reason for the INFO box was to make the article look more professional that is all. Thankyou for the answer. I am wondering why they said this ? I dont know how to contact them as i have no messages its only showing up on the page now. So how do i contact @Theroadislong as there is no link ? thankyou for letting me know very concerning about the COI Nanette unsolved (talk) 00:45, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Nanette unsolved sorry I should have clarified, you can go to user talk:theroadislong and add a new topic from there. the info box is perfectly fine - the only thing I'll remove from it is the reward part but otherwise that box is completely fine. Karnataka 01:38, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Karnataka no problems thought that may have been the case but on looking at Margaret Tapp muders I've been following how they did it and they have the reward in there as well Murders of Margaret and Seana Tapp and that was not far from where Nanette was attacked so that is why i put it in there I have no association with that Wiki user but was getting ideas from their page. And got the idea from their page for the INFO box As I'm finding it difficult to use the Wikipedia explanations . We did know about her murder and it happened in my home town I was 10 at the time and no affiliation with her so I never met her but remember being very scared and I have no interest or gain from this what so ever. So No I never knew or met Nanette in any capacity. I think I may have written we knew Nanette in an earlier query but we knew of Nanette's murder due to proximity which is what i meant. It wants me to do all these steps and I dont know how to so I got on Theroadislongs page and started a new topic I will also put this on there under the topic to explain +Nanette unsolved (talk) 01:50, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
My reason for suspecting a conflict of interest was that you are a single purpose account and your user name "Nanette unsolved". Theroadislong (talk) 06:24, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong If i change my user name will that remove the COI please? Just trying to work out how to do it. Nanette unsolved (talk) 02:28, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
