sources?
editIt says "have been compared to gangsta rap"; by whom?
- Most likely by Elijah Wald, he is the folklorist who has written about this most. He has a book, Narcocorrido: a journey into the music of drugs, guns, and guerrillas this would be a good source if anyone can turn up a copy. I recall reading an article in Sing Out! on this topic as well, probably by the same author. Also it is Wald's web site provided as an external link. -MrFizyx 15:59, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Missing content?
editThere is a whole line missing after the part about the "translation" of some term. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.94.251.198 (talk) 17:51, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Canela? Dont think they are talking about cinnamon
editIve never heard of exorbitant taxes on cinnamon the spice, however I have heard Canela used as slang for Marijuana. Is there a reference for the Mexican answer to US cinnamon tarrifs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samoaiskillingmyliver (talk • contribs) 01:56, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Extent of Narcocorrido's popularity claim
editThe claim "it is widely heard and produced throughout all Latin America" is quite a sweeping statement which does not have any sources whatsoever to back it up. Widely, heard, produced, and all in the same sentence makes it one big asseveration which should be heavily substantiated. This phrase should certainly be modified significantly without anyone providing credible links that corroborate this claim.
