editInformation on the origins of this song would also be nice. --Jiang
2 things
edit- Taiwan doesn't have a flag song. Or a national anthem for that matter.
- Even if ROC could compete in the Olympics as ROC (or even Taiwan) this song should still be played since it's the flag song, ie. the song played when the flag is raised?

What makes you think Taiwan doesn't have a flag song, Miborovsky!?--Edmundkh 16:32, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Because this is the National Banner Song. Taiwan, being a province, doesn't have a national banner song. -- 我♥中國 21:23, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
It seems that you are discriminating Taiwan. Even though Taiwan is not recognised as an independant country, it is used to be considered a country, since she is sovereign. You should know that the ROC government always claim the Mainland as their territory too. Actually the PRC and ROC claim on territory are totallyoverlapping - both of them claim the whole Mainland plus Taiwan.--Edmundkh 16:15, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Taiwan was NEVER considered an independent country. You seem to be confusing Taiwan with the Republic of China. Taiwan is a PROVINCE of China, and this song is the NATIONAL Flag Song, dude! Is this really so hard to comprehend? -- 我♥中國 22:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
NO!! I am f***ing clear that ROC de facto refers to Taiwan, and PRC is de facto only refering to Mainland. Actually, ROC and PRC both claim Taiwan as a PROVINCE, you are right. But can't you accept the fact that this song is the national flag song of ROC!? Haha... it sounds like you are a PRC national... --Edmundkh 16:46, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Is there something wrong with your reading comprehension??? THIS IS THE NATIONAL FLAG SONG OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA, NOT TAIWAN!!! -- 我♥中國 23:39, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Please stop making my brain go upside down. I have said that de facto, ROC=Taiwan, even though de jure, ROC≠Taiwan. In everyday life, we consider ROC=Taiwan and Taiwan=ROC. I think only people of the PRC refuse to accept this fact. --Edmundkh 11:14, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if what I'm explaining is too difficult for your brain to process. There's no de facto or de jure in this, there's only one thing: ROC =/= Taiwan. Is it really that hard to comprehend? -- 我♥中國 05:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Bejing 2008 web site acknowledges the National Anthem of Taiwan R.O.C as San Min Chu Yi
editThe National Banner Song is an ode to the Flag of the R.O.C, a White Sun on a Blue Sky, Over the Red Earth. Really more equivalent to the USA "Your'e a grand old flag" type of song.
I would guess that the IOC rules still prevent the playing of the ROC National Anthem for a Gold, but is seems like a long-shot for Chinese-Taipei to win a gold this time around. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.162.30.43 (talk) 05:31, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
not"cleat sky"
editIt is "Blue Sky", not "clear sky", as "青天"。[1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Loveliaoyan (talk • contribs) 12:04, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Singing of the National Flag Anthem
editAt school, when raising the flag, the flag anthem is not sang. Before raising the flag, National Anthem is sang, then flag anthem is played while the flag raises, but not sang. At Olympics or other international events where ROC plays as Chinese Taipei, some people sings the flag anthem as it represents the Olympic Committee, not as National Flag Anthem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:B020:0:71:0:0:0:135 (talk) 16:24, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
