I'd like to help remove some of the 'citation needed' annotations in the standards area of the article, but in most cases I'm at a loss as to how to go about substantiating these claims (the veracity of which are largely indisputable in the mind of most anyone associated with the model railroading hobby). NMRA has had a 'product conformance program' for decades; in the beginning it was a big deal and empirics suggests that it was key in bringing most manufacturers to a common level of rolling stock interoperability. But as far as I know, there's no principal, citeable source to support this 'fact'.

On the other hand, I'd argue that the somewhat patronizing comparisons to British and NEM standards should be removed from the article as they lend nothing positive to the discussion.

Yes the part about a citation needed for the nmra library moving to CA. Might as well need to site that the sky is blue. It is moving and everyone (that cares) knows it. Russ The Rail Guy 19:38, 20 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Railguyruss (talkcontribs)

I've added the section titles as a mean to provide better linking to this article. Granted, this article could be improved significantly, but the sections help provide a framework. --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 18:20, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
