editSomebody with an IP address that puts them on the OU campus has made a couple changes to the article today. They have changed the OU School of Meteorology to OU Internship of Meteorology citing a program on The Weather Channel. Unfortunately, that source is not verifiable to I have twice reverted the change. I believe it should remain OU School of Meteorology per this source which is on the official NWC website.↔NMajdan•talk 18:21, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that's one of the NAT addresses here on campus. Grr. And yes, it should be the School of Meteorology--plaws 19:48, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- During a recent week long segment on the Weather Channel, the assistant dean of the college was quoted as saying that the school of meteorology is less of an academic unit and more like an internship. While it is true that the school is still a 'school' and not an internship, it's clear that the posts were a direct, tongue-in-cheek response to the quote.
Merge proposal
editI can't find indications of WP:GNG level notability for the Advanced Radar Research Center, and most of what content exists was taken cut/paste from the center's web site which made it a copyvio. It seems what little information we can reliably source here would easily fit into this page, which seems a better choice than outright deletion of the ARRC article. Thoughts? --j⚛e deckertalk 23:54, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- Wait. I believe they are building a new building for this over the next couple years, so it might be good to see if we can turn it into a decent article. Ks0stm (T•C•G•E) 19:44, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
- I agree with Ks0stm about wait, but for a different reason. The Advanced Radar Research Center should be expanded out to become a useful subarticle. I don't see the point in deleting an article, only to see it reinstated weeks or months from now, even if it is a mere stub at the present time. Thegreatdr (talk) 03:49, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
Categorization
editSeeing as this is the National Weather Center, shouldn't this article be classified with the University of Oklahoma's and possibly Meteorology's WikiProjects? Contributor Dustin V. S. (talk) 18:48, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
Article reclassification
editThis article meets the requirements for Start classification. Im my opinion, it is well beyond the Stub category. Bruin2 (talk) 01:25, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
Photo update
editThe picture of the NWC building must be from the end of the construction phase as several parts of the building are unfinished or missing, like the antenna, parts of the exterior of the observation deck, the water basin by the entrance, and the flags. I suggest using a more recent photo. --129.15.64.220 (talk) 16:52, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- If you can find a public domain image which can alternately be used, link it here. If not... live in or near Central Oklahoma? Somewhere in the vicinity of Norman? Take a picture and upload it to Commons. Dustin (talk) 17:45, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
