This article claims the festival probably started in the Fatamid Caliphate, but goes on to state its celebration is an example of lasting Sasanid influence. These are contradictory statements and given the origin of the name for the festival, the latter is more likely. Sartorialegypt (talk) 06:28, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
