He has come a long way

edit

I first met Mr. Nazir Sabir in 1979, when as a member of Alpine Club of Pakistan he was promoting young adults to take interest in mountain climbing. I met him again in 1983 when he was commissioned by then President Gen. Zia-ul-Haq to escort National Geographic photographer Galen Rowell on his photographic journey "Baltistan - 20th Century comes to Shangri-La" which was published in April 1985 issue. I was a manager at Shangri-La Tourist Resort, Skardu where Mr. Sabir was staying. As a favour to my hospitality, I appear in one of the pictures. Mr. Nazir Sabir is a true example of preserverence of human passion. Zubin Sharif —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.215.12.210 (talk) 19:03, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
