The Ingredients EP
editThe Ingredients EP was released on April 30th 1990, not in 1989. Various sources could confirm this, not least of which the release itself which has a 1990 copyright on it. Seems a tad odd that it has been re-edited to 1989 again without explantion when the previous edit tried to clarify the exact date???
You have the wrong information
editThere is a website that said it was released before 1990. Please look up at these sites: [1] and [2], before you edit again. In the meantime, it seems that you have the wrong information. -- Mike Garcia 00:50, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I'm afraid both of those sites are incorrect (the fact that neither of them agree on which year hardly makes them the best choice of evidence surely?). If you check any of the fan websites out there (who would be more reliable and a more obvious choice to check than the two you have provided) then you will see it was 1990 - and as mentioned the release itself has a 1990 copyright notice. I'm kind of disappointed that you didn't check more thoroughly or find more reliable sources before suggesting someone else had wrong information...
- No, you're the one who has the wrong information, so like it or not or you'll be banned from now on. We can't stick with any fan sites, the websites I linked do have the right information.
- As punishment, if you keep coming back me and other users will keep reverting your edits every time you come back restoring the incorrect year. I'm sorry, goodbye. -- Mike Garcia 02:05, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Wow, I can't believe people are arguing so vehemently about this. Chill out. Various sources on the internet say 1989 others say 1990. NONE of them are in any way authoritative. So if the liner says 1990 (can you post a picture) then this clearly wins. FWIW, there are 2-3 times the number of unauthoritative sources that say 1990 over 1989.
- Certainly - if you check this page [3], you will see scans of the CD and 12", both with a 1990 copyright notice. I have no idea why it's being argued so strongly either, I just took offence to being written off as wrong without any apparent evidence, i mean "the websites I linked do have the right information" - yeah, so right that they don't even agree on which year? I should have thought to post that link to start with, but i honestly thought mentioning it would be enough (at least to cause a bit more research before having edited it back). There are plenty of other sources too come to think of it, they're just not online. Try the biography The Eight Legged Atomic Dustbin Will eat Itself (and the Ned's-only Available for Panto)by Martin Roach, which has the release as April 1990. And just as a minor, pedantic point, it was titled "the ingredients ep", not just "the ingredients"...
- Leave it the way it is now and don't come back. -- Mike Garcia 14:47, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
as another neds fan from many years, it should perhaps be clearly pointed out that the correct date is 1990
Lineup
editAnyone care to update the article with the current (circa Hibernation) lineup? adavidw 05:08, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
no sooner asked but done - had been on one of my lists to do for a while Steve-Ho 06:02, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Excellent! Thanks. adavidw 07:07, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Further to this, "Ned's Atomic Dustbin reformed with a different line up in 2000" could do with some elaboration. At the moment, that line reads as if none of the original members was involved: I assume that some of the original members were involved - would someone who knows the line up for this era like to add names? Shoegaze?
editReally? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.159.128.21 (talk) 15:24, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I was rather surprised to see them lumped in with that movement. Much as I liked Slowdive, I don't recall any moshing at their gigs! Until such time as anyone can find some reliable source that suggests Ned's were shoegazers, I'll remove that. Longwayround (talk) 17:07, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Style
editThis article is written like a fan's history submitted to a magazine. The style is informal, it asserts opinion as fact or is otherwise unreferenced, and is overly-detailed on recent incidentals. Some sources are trivial. Major contributor seems to have a WP:COI. Article needs a major overhaul. I've made a small start anyway. Plutonium27 (talk) 15:28, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
