Cleanup

edit

This is a new page moved from the main Oklahoma City page, but this entire section is full of spin and is more of a blosterism of OKC, rather than an encycopedia article. It needs to be rewritten almost completely, and there needs to be paragraph deletions. (note: the downtown section is of particular need of rewriting)--Okiefromokla 20:17, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, there are are a couple of areas left out, particularly in North OKC, such as Nichols Hills and The Village (Maybe Putnam City and Britton, too.). I'm no expert on Oklahoma City, but I think these places definately have a historical significance, and are pretty distinct areas. They should be included here.

NOTE: Nichols Hills and The Village are CITIES and not neighborhoods of OKC — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.12.182.54 (talk) 04:41, 10 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Downtown Section Rewritten

edit

I rewrote quite of bit of the Downtown section, but really all that was needed in most places was a word change or two. Really, I think an encyclopedia article should focus on all the aspects of a topic, not just the boring, informational, statisitical facts, but also on what is happening. So, for that reason, I left much of the original content unchanged, I just improved its readibility. Roygene 16:43, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup Tag Removal Notice

edit

As of 12:05 p.m. Central Time on Sunday, October 8, 2006, I believe that this article should no longer be listed as in need of serious cleanup. Unless anyone objects, I will remove the cleanup tag at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2006. Roygene 17:07, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Real estate propaganda

edit

This has the appearance of having been written by a cheerleader (someone young). I won't replace the cleanup tag, but this is not encyclopedic, it's all rah-rah. Ex: seems like mention of massive use of imminent domain (displacing tens of thousands of primarily poor and non-white citizens to bulldoze the near east side to build a hospital complex and freeway right up to the capitol) is missing, if one wants to do fairness to economic development of neighborhoods such as Deep Deuce and Bricktown. The riches developers make today are on the backs of those displaced peoples. And the irony of putting a land rush sculpture right where they bulldozed the coffin factory, brilliant.
