How do I code the citation used in this article for "Monumenta Nipponica". The following is in some respect not appropriate and will not program? "<ref>{{cite journal | last = | first = | title = | journal = [[Monumenta Nipponica]] | volume = | year = | issue = | pages = | jstor = }}</ref>"Srednuas Lenoroc (talk) 07:35, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Srednuas Lenoroc, when you use the {{cite journal}} (or any cite template) you need to fill in certain information. If you want to reference an article called "The Last Stand" published in 1915, it would look something like this:
  • <ref>{{cite journal|last=Bloggs|first=Joe|title=The Last Stand|journal=[[Monumenta Nipponica]]|volume=X|year=2315}}</ref>
  • which will turn into
  • Bloggs, Joe (1915). "The Last Stand". Monumenta Nipponica. X.
See WP:REFB for more information about references, and the refToolbar (which makes information easier to enter). If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 08:57, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
