Mil-Sim Nerf "Information"
editUsers, such as Wikinerfer and IP address 94.xxx.xxx.xxx repeatedly add false, unnecessary, in-universe information. This is of no use to an outsider looking for information on Nerf wars, and the NIC does not follow these rules. They're even badly written. If you want to add this information, create a new article and stop wrecking this one! STABiLiZED (talk) 15:43, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- (Please add new threads to the bottom of the talkpage, per convention). Information of that type does not belong anywhere on Wikipedia. If that want to add this information, they can fork Wikipedia, host it on their own site, and add it there. New articles created on Wikipedia with such content will be deleted. -Verdatum (talk) 18:08, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- I was not familiar with the term in-universe until now, but yeah, that summarizes the problem as I also see it. It's a LARP type fantasy, and not very many of the nerfers I know are interested in anything of the sort, nor is it what wikipedia is for.Filterbob (talk) 18:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Minor quibbles
editGood job on the re-write -- this article is *gasp* based on reality again . A couple of minor quibbles: I think that the ERTL Pump Action Shotgun should be mentioned in place of the the Rapid Fire Shotgun (the former is much more common), and the SNAP, SuperMAXX series, Nitefinder and Blowguns should be mentioned. That would about cover all the most popular blasters. DanielBeaver (talk) 16:29, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Generally, an article on Wikipedia should avoid going into too much detail. The blasters I included are the absolute most popular in use today, but you're probably right about the PAS instead of the RFS. STABiLiZED (talk) 16:46, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Good work, you two. I like where it's going. Although I have some wikipedia experience, I'm really glad to see people with greater nerf war experience contributing.Filterbob (talk) 17:51, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
This article is becoming very shitty and needs to be protected/deleted.
editThere are A LOT of 12 year olds fantasizing about nerf wars on this. Its impossible to keep it in good shape. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dacheatcode (talk • contribs) 21:07, 25 July 2009 (UTC) Agreed Filterbob (talk) 17:04, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Question...
edit...where, and when did the "NERF Wars" get their names? PLZ reply on my Talk page. --76.95.66.209 (talk) 07:57, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Actual experience with nerf war play
editThis page could benefit from some. I am able to bring a little. I am interested in getting into edit wars with people typing juvenile stuff like "pwnzors" so perhaps the page should be left static for a few days while the noise dies down? Filterbob (talk) 19:01, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Still waiting for the noise to die down. Although it may be humorous for some to sign their contributions in the article, and/or to make comments like "Talio is a dick" it won't help the page in any way. Besides which Talio is, in fact, proud of being "a dick" online. Filterbob (talk) 17:42, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
I think this article needs references

Duel section-Keep, delete or redo?
editThe duel game type, is, what I believe, to be inaccurate. Duel means that two. Thus, two people duke it out. But, that section says "2-4 players". I mean, really! I say, we either fix that, change the name, or just delete that section entirely. Ruler of Coasters Talk 14:24, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Picture
editThis article needs a picture of a nerf war of some sort. Just saying. It would illustrate what the article is about. Ruler of Coasters Talk 15:01, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
