Oh god Nergal save me from wikipedia editors who don't understand Semitic onomastic grammar and actually believe that names like this are exhortations. The name means "[he whom] Nergal cherishes as [a] king". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.234.164.85 (talk) 10:53, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Well-written article. The sources all look reliable enough, and I'm not seeing a whole lot of issues. Again, the religion is only obliquely addressed by his work on Babylonian temples. I'd say it's implied enough that it works for GA standard, but if you wanted to try to take this through A-Class or FAC, it's likely that something more direct in that area would be needed. I spot-checked a couple of the Lendering citations, and no issues there. I'm comfortable placing this one of hold for these small issues to be tidied up. Thank you for taking on the review! If I push this up to FAC or similar in the future I will definitely get a more direct reference in regards to religion; as of now it's just something I have dropped in the infoboxes of all the Mesopotamian kings I've worked on.
