Redirect

edit

There's no evidence of notability for this character separate from the movie itself, and no cited information about his creation/development. Any reason this character shouldn't follow in the footsteps of General Chang, Sybok, Dr. Soran et al. and redirect to an appropriate List of Star Trek characters? --EEMIV (talk) 22:58, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

When does the DVD come out? There may be some development information on that. --Malkinann (talk) 06:15, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Maybe. But almost certainly within the context of the movie as a whole (i.e. how this character matters to the overall narrative), which is better covered at Star Trek (film). --EEMIV (talk) 06:20, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
What about the novelisation, or the prequel comic? Maybe there are 'production notes' there? --Malkinann (talk) 07:25, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I didn't see anything in large-format novelization at the B&N today. I read the iPhone version of the prequel comic, which included no production information. --EEMIV (talk) 23:50, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
How about it just redirect to Star Trek (film)? All of the pertinent information about the character should be contained therein. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 00:22, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
...except that if folks come looking for information specifically on the character, the blurb at a List of... might be easier to navigate to, rather than scouring a large article that focuses on the movie as a whole, with references to Nero scattered throughout. Meh, although, I suppose Star Trek (film)#Plot might work. I'm don't feel very strongly either way -- although I do recall that months/years? ago when I redirected a bunch of characters to the episode/movie in which they appear, another editor or two suggested the List of... as a more appropriate target, and I think that's where most of our single-/few-appearance character redirects point. --EEMIV (talk) 12:36, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've carried out a merge. If significant, third-party coverage in reliable sources come to light, partial restoration (i.e. ditching the "biography" stuff, which is just a regurgitation of content at Star Trek (film)) might be appropriate. Please discuss here first. --EEMIV (talk) 14:29, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
