okay, i want to put in this table to show off the team's colors (see Talk: WikiProject: Football Clubs) but i can't for the life of me figure out how to include it and make it look nice with the logo where it is. help? -- Bcordes 01:44, Jun 25, 2004 (UTC)

Individual Awards

Does anybody else want to chime in (either way) on the inclusion of individual players' awards under the "Notable Players" section? I'm in favor of it because it helps define what makes the player notable; the opinion against seems to be that the information is available elsewhere (though I argue that it isn't always on the player's personal page; it is available on the MLS Awards category page). Bcordes 16:24, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

I just wrote something on your talk page... IMHO, it makes the section look ugly. And all the awards are already listed on the individual page of the award, the page for the MLS season, and (in most cases), on the player's page. I guess it's not a big deal, but theyn you would have to put every awards for every "notable player" for every team for consistency. And personally, I don't think "All-Star MVP" should be listed on the team's page, because the All-Star game has nothing to do with the team itself. --DR31 (talk) 16:30, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Remove While this information is interesting, I think it unfortunately violates WP:NOTSTATS and therefore should be removed. Also, I can not find this of list on other MLS team articles, including the FA class Seattle Sounders page. I will paste the contents here in case anyone needs to revisit it later. --Dazzling4 (talk) 23:28, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Honors

i think with the year-by-year we dont need to list being first in the east as an honor--especially since they finished behind everyone in the west but kc. Nateji77 15:29, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

Away colors

Can someone fix the away colors? There is no black in their away colors. I tried to fix it, but couldn't for some reason.KitHutch 15:25, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I uploaded a new template that allows for a white body with thin red stripes, whereas the previous template dictated black with no apparent allowance for input. There is probably a better way to do this, but the black is out for now. Bill Oaf 06:14, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

The away colors need to be fixed again. I have never seen the Revs wear green kits. KitHutch (talk) 16:18, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Attendance Numbers

The figures for the attendances numbers seem extremely high. I have worked at the stadium in some function for the past 4 years and these numbers seem completely made up. I suggest taking them down until verifiable ones are put up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.22.134.45 (talk) 21:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

The official attendance figures that MLS puts out are notoriously imaginary, even compared with the padding that regularly goes on in other sports. Teams with notably bad attendance, like NE, KC, and my team, RBNY, tend to see wildly inflated numbers. Teams with good attendance (DC, LA, some others) are a little more reasonable. If it were up to me, I wouldn't mind seeing attendance numbers stripped out of all MLS articles, but no one would go for it: it'll be argued that inflated attendance figures are commonplace in sports (true), that some sort of attendance figure has to be given (more debatable), and that the league's official numbers are the only ones we can really use (sort of true, but there should be some note about reliability). Bill Oaf 01:39, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Those are the "official" attendance numbers. They may seem high, but unless you have the actual gate numbers they will have to do. 72.200.165.150 00:28, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Wolfp10
Agreed. It's official. It's officially wrong, but since that's what they are announcing, that's what it is. SirFozzie 05:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:NE Revolution logo.gif

Image:NE Revolution logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:58, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Midnight Riders

Does anyone else think that the little information on this page about the Midnight Riders can be expanded upon more on its own page? Their website also has some pretty useful information. Red Bull New York has pages for their supporter groups and they don't have maybe less information than the Midnight Riders--Tsurettejr 21:38, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Notable former players

As a revs fan, I love Cancela and Dorman as much as the next guy, but do they really belong in the notable former players section? Most of the other guys are former internationals or had relatively sparkling careers compared to these two. It just seems to me the standard here should be a bit higher than part time starter for a couple of seasons with decent numbers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.191.92.226 (talk) 03:45, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree, in a sense. What should be criteria for being a "Notable former player"? At least 50 Revs appearences and/or 50 national caps? Thoughts? Bwidell (talk) 22:59, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Picture of Shirts

The picture of the home/away shirts, while much prettier than the hodgepodge approximations we have usually on team's websites, they are eggregiously outdated and are in serious need of update. Can someone with a little more technical skill work on this? -- Grant.Alpaugh 15:49, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

While I agree that they need to be updated to this year's shirts, I think you were a little harsh in saying they "are in serious need of update." They are, after all, only last year's shirts (and the caption does say they are from 2007). I'm sure someone will come along with update pictures. Bwidell (talk) 22:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
They are older than that. They have the Sierra Mist logo on them. Franharrington (talk) 07:55, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
My mistake. The adidas template was still the same as it was in 2006, though. Hopefully someone with more graphics skills can whip up a picture of the new kits. Bwidell (talk) 01:00, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

SuperLiga in table

I started a thread on Talk:Major League Soccer about the SuperLiga column in the Year-by-year table to see if there were comments about when to remove it, since I have to think its a matter of when and not if. The Revs were the only MLS team to win the tournament, so this may be the one team to keep the column for now.-- Patrick, oѺ 15:50, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

International Tournaments?

What's the benefit to the reader of having the score of a one-off international friendly on the Revolution main page? I think it should be removed and kept to just the page in regards to that season. Achowat (talk) 17:12, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Change in roster format

There was a discussion about the new roster format and we have had a trial at both the Timbers and Whitecaps articles and recently Cascadia Cup rival Sounders have converted. The idea is to move all club articles on Wikipedia to the new format as is discussed in the original discussion and more recently at the football project.

My suggestion is to complete the MLS team articles first, so if you could respond at this discussion, that would be ideal. In short, the new layout is slightly taller and less wide, but it correctly impliments WP:MOSFLAG and is better for visually impared users of Wikipedia and others who use readers. I plan to implement the change to this article by the weekend of January 20-22, however other editors could make the change sooner. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:53, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

The color was recently changed to a very dark blue (I assume and approximation of the Home Shirt) but the problem arises that one can no longer easily see that the table is WikiSortable, since the sort button is still black. Can anything be done to fix that? Achowat (talk) 13:56, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
I've asked this question at WP:VPT. —WFC14:03, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
The fix should be easy. I'll make it now. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:07, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Honors

Honors have been re-stylized to conform to Atlanta United's style. Should we really be listing the Runners-Up information? If you look at Chelsea's honors section they do not list Runners-Up, for example. --Dazzling4 (talk) 23:28, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Golden Boot Winners

Is the section of Golden Boot Winners really necessary? I feel that this could be listed elsewhere, perhaps on a page dedicated to New England Revolution stats? For example: List of Atlanta United FC records and statistics. I moved the old list bellow. --Dazzling4 (talk) 23:28, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

MLS Golden Boot winners

Pat Noonan 2004 30

Stadium

I am updating the stadium section of this article to be more inline with FA class articles like Seattle Sounders FC or Arsenal FC. In doing so, I believe this list of stadiums does not belong on this article, as I don't believe its importance merits its inclusion. --Dazzling4 (talk) 11:28, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Stadium List

Year-by-year

Does anyone want to chime in about the relevance/state of the Year-by-year section? Personally I think it should be removed, or drastically restructured. Right now it features far too much auxiliary information that is only tangentially related. In terms of readability this chart is a train-wreck. There is absolutely no way that someone who is unfamiliar with the very specific details of North American soccer would understand most of what this chart is trying to convey. I propose removing the season by season chart in favor of some sort of graphic, for example, this image from Arsenal's page:

Chart showing Arsenal's league positions since admission to The Football League in 1893

Next, I propose adding a separate table for top goal scorers per season. Please share your thoughts. --Dazzling4 (talk) 19:28, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

It's been a couple years since you posted this but:
- I think the graphic is great for EPL, but is less helpful in US soccer with no pro/rel
- I could go either way with top goal scorers per season. I'm not convinced it needs to be on the front page, it seems very season specific.
- If we remove the "league" columns, that would simplify this. I think that data is too granular for the front page- it's not necessary to see PPG, games played in this view, and it contributes to the weird formatting of that table Brindille1 (talk) 18:39, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
