"After its release, "New Guy" received a mixed response from contemporary music critics" - why contemporary? The song isn't old so all of the reviews are recent
"The visual displays the duo performing the track in various rooms" - video?

"She concluded by saying that she doesn't qualify that as music" - does not
"Much like the song, the two singers take turn performing their verse" - turns
