Pre-1910 references to trains from New York needs cleanup
editThis article needs cleanup. There are passages referring to PRR trains running from New York to New Jersey and Philadelphia --in the context of times pre-1910. This is erroneous. Until 1910, PRR trains had their eastern terminus at Exchange Place station (Pennsylvania Railroad) in Jersey City, New Jersey.Dogru144 (talk) 21:37, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- It was only in 1910, with the opening of Pennsylvania Station, that trains crossed under the Hudson River.Dogru144 (talk) 21:38, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
'Norfolk area' is better term
editFor the decades referenced in nearly all of this article: the proper conception is: Norfolk area, as travelers from NYC or New Jersey would have taken the Del-Mar-Va peninsula route of the PRR or predecessors to Cape Charles, Virginia, thence a ferry to Norfolk; or they would have taken a train to Washington, D.C., then switched to a Chesapeake and Ohio train to Phoebus, Virginia, thence a ferry across the harbor to Norfolk.Dogru144 (talk) 22:12, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
