Conflict of Interest
editThis article's main content was contributed by a user whose name indicates that he is the Communications Manager for the subject museum. This constituted a Conflict of Interest. Articles should be developed by neutral third party editors. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:15, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- A few edits were required to restore the article to neutral status. Conflict of Interest tag removed. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:54, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Copyright violation?
editIs the mission statement the only infringing part of this article? If so, that does not justify deleting the whole article. If we really are going to discuss the mission statement, we would have to quote it, right? How about rewriting this as a sourced quote, or just deleting the mission statement section? --Uncia (talk) 22:04, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have deleted the copyrighted material and placed the new page at Talk:New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum/Temp. --Uncia (talk) 13:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- The mission statement has been removed from the main page, as it was both a copyright violation and non-encyclopedic. I believe the article, as it stands now, is in pretty good shape. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:55, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Removing PROD tag
editI don't agree with the stated reason: "This article reads like a brocure or ad for the museum." The article seems objective to me. I have removed the PROD tag. --Uncia (talk) 13:40, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough. There are a few peacock words that should be removed, and the entire "Mission Statement" section should be removed (one only publishes a Mission Statement when one wants to promote one's entity). Also, some contributions from non-coi editors would help. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
