well the naming of New South Wales in Canada predates the naming of the Australian one, and also I don't see it as a rather unusual name, as New Zealand and New York are named after Zealand and York, New South Wales must've reminded the namer of South Wales —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.187.169 (talk) 03:05, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
