editI don't think that there is such thing
- Rebuttal - There are AP courses if you look in the course booklet, includes European Art History and others.
Moved from commented out section in article space
editAnyone interested in adding more stuff about the school (sports, leadership stuff, etc...)? Thanks! --El Barto.
Suggestion
editMaybe someone could get a list of all the clubs offered at the school and describe them. 207.81.184.128 22:21, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
Added Content
editI added a "student life" section. This article needs more references. Dooga 07:25, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Atheletics Section
editIt would be great if members of the sports teams or coaches contributed to this section and further elaborate on the Athletics in NWSS. Dooga Talk 00:19, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Strong need for references
edit- There are many many unverified claims in the article, and even though some may be commonly known to most students and staff, other people who have not seen or attended the school would not know the validity. Is it true that 20 million $ was requested? Did Shirley Bond really say "We're trying asbestos we can"? ...and certain other unverified claims. I'm not saying that they are untrue, but references need to be added to improve not only validity and authenticity, but also the ratings and assessment. This article is frequently vandalized and answers.com has frequently cached vandalized versions, the recent version was outrageously harmful. I have contacted Answers.com and they have agreed to remove the vandalized content and update to Wikipedia's current version. However I do not wish to repeatedly have to do so. Also, it has come to my attention that many new editors have came to help with the New Westminster Secondary school article. Please verify even the claims that I have made, because I am just a student, and yet 80% of the article was created by me, so I don't guarantee accuracy. Certainly I am trying my best to keep the quality of this article at its best, and hopefully we can resubmit it for evaluation and assessment and get a higher score. Dooga Talk 23:19, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with your comments, we need to find more reputable sources for anything that we place on this article. Dooga, may I ask for your real name so I can better communicate with you? Mike. MikeyGrimes 03:16, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Some of the issues that take place at the school, such as the valedictorian issue, have nothing to cite, because it is not an issue on any kind of record, and certainly not on the internet. It is simply an event that took place at the school. Derek W 1639h, 06 June 2007 (UTC)
Asbestos Incident
editI think that this section of the article may be slightly biased. Please address the issue.АБВГ 03:44, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have somewhat edited the section of the article to address both POVs. The incident itself is a debatable topic, so I decided to make the section less detailed, such as removing the amount that was fined, which wasn't verified. Dooga Talk 06:26, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Page Clean Up
editThe overall tone of the article is too conversational and too trivial, a rewrite of certain portions is needed. АБВГ 03:44, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
School Drinking water incident specified
editI have added the recently clarified school drinking water incident inside the article. Dooga Talk 22:22, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
History of New Westminster Secondary School
editI would like to bring up a note: NWSS requires sources about its history, because these claims are not verified. I have put them in comments for now, but someone needs to fix them. Thanks! Dooga Talk 23:44, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Outdated facilities information
editNote: The facilities are outdated! It would be great if a person who knew more about the school's resources updated them. I am not aware of the actual numbers, these are just estimates. Dooga Talk 23:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Added lock down incident
editLockdown situation on April 10th, 2008 was added. Please help keep a NPOV. Dooga Talk 06:57, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
New and stronger references needed
editSome of the issues and controversies need strong references to back up these incidents because they can be seen as biased and inaccurate. This may paint the institution in a negative way without relaying proof of the matter. Also some of the references that were presented like the drinking water incident is not available anymore. Therefore the references need to be updated as well.JMaccmns (talk) 04:30, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- I don't see much point in some of this material being in the article at all, and there is far too much detail in the rest of the dated info. An unsourced lightning strike in 2007? A false alarm about contaminated drinking water? Meters (talk) 04:45, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- Meters, after three years, lighting struck this article. Drmies (talk) 17:47, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
