Newari literatureNewar literature – Please place your rationale for the proposed move here. थकुराःमा (talk) 04:51, 11 November 2021 (UTC)— Relisting. —usernamekiran • sign the guestbook(talk) 16:03, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment Why?—blindlynx (talk) 14:54, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
    @Blindlynx I think it is to match the main article's name Newar language. Bada Kaji (talk • श्रीमान् गम्भीर) 15:09, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • The title to match main article's name is the reason for move request.--थकुराःमा (talk) 12:47, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment- There are various opinions on this matter such as [1]. However, the fact remains that Newar is a noun referring to the Newar people and Newari is an adjective to reflect the language/custom/tradition of Newar people. It is customary to put ee sound (same as in Jeep) sound to reflect the language/custom/tradition of various countries and big communities. I think there is some grammar rule for it in high school books. For example, Nepal and Nepali; Chin (china) and Chini (Chinese); Bharat (India) and Bharati (Indians), Ruus (Russia) and Ruusi (Russians) etc. If we change the title to Newar literature, it will sound completely unnatural to Nepalese readers. Either it should be Newar's literature or it should be Newari literature. Also, I recommend moving the Newar language to the Newari language as it is a more natural and widely used. Newari literatureNewar literature – Consistency with Newar art, Newar language, Newar traditional clothing, Newar people, Newar Buddhism. I don't know if there is a right or a wrong here, since both forms are used in RS so far as I can tell. But I think we should be consistent between titles. • Comment - I closed this discussion with the following rationale: This discussion has been relisted twice with no input from other editors, acknowledging there is no minimum participation in RM discussions and the usual position would be to move the page by default, there was an RM discussion proposing the same move closed in November 2021 with greater participation and the closer found a consensus amongst the participants that the move should not occur. Although the argument based on consistency was elaborated on in this discussion, it does not outweigh the arguments made in the previous discussion. Hence, I'm closing as No consensus. However following a request from the proposer I will reopen the discussion as I am uncomfortable closing as moved. --Jack Frost (talk) 01:08, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support for consistency, per nom. As it stands, the most convincing consensus remains Talk:Newar_language/Archive_1#Move_2. Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:16, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
