There have been four by-elections since the 2014 elections:
September 2014 - Beckton, due to the death of Cllr Alec Kellaway May 2014 - Stratford and New Town, due to the disqualification of Cllr Charlene MacLean due to non-attendance December 2015 - Boleyn, due to the death of Cllr Charity Fibresima July 2016 - Forest Gate North, due to the resignation of Cllr Ellie Robinson
Labour held all four seats.
