The "Manor" of Newton

edit

Would the unfortunate person who bought the "manor" of Newton in good faith from Manorial Auctioneers kindly check the HM Registry records for 1950, 1977, 2003 relating to the Manor & Liberty of Slaidburn. They plainly show that the township of Newton is part of the Manor of Slaidburn and thus owned by Thomas Assheton. Lord O'Hagan had no legal right to sell the non-existent "manor" of Newton in February 2011. The purchaser needs to refer back to his solicitor Rollasons on this matter as he has been misled.

Would the purchaser please contact the Asshetons' land agent Michael Parkinson at michael.parkinson@inghamandyorke.co.uk to discuss this matter? It is part of a pattern of unauthorised sales of manorial rights owned by the Assheton family.

Wikipedia is not about the personal views of a single person, it is about collecting a number of published sources such as books, academic articles, and news stories and summarising that information (correctly referenced) into an (hopefully interesting) objective article. For further information on what Wikipedia in not see WP:Not

Information that does not come from a published source is unlikely to be suitable for this website either on the grounds of notability (See: WP:Note) or that in constitutes original research (See: WP:NOR).

I would be well within my rights to remove all the info on who currently owns this title as is poorly referenced and about as notable as who lives at no. 13.

As this has been tried before and it just keeps coming back, I’m going to pause for a while to do some research and discuss options with any experienced editors who have an interest. Editors should be aware that it is possible block IP addresses from editing (as well as usernames) even if they belong to an institution such as a college. --Trappedinburnley (talk) 23:05, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Trappedinburnley, I share your view. We need to gather the evidence and reach a definitive position. I can provide you with ample evidence that there is no "manor" of Newton if you wish to offer me your email address. In my view, "lordofnewton"/"neautone1" should be banned immediately pending a decision.
