Maps?
editAre there any maps of the war which could be used in the article? Thanks Hmains 19:48, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

First shots fired?
editCan anyone confirm that it was a certain Ad Chapman who fired the first (two - both missed) shots in this war? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.10.108.182 (talk) 12:47, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Elliot West (2009) says that Chapman fired a couple shots (at White Bird Canyon; June 14?) which "began the war's first battle". [3](But that had been preceded by number of skirmishes involving gunfire - see preceding pages.)Twang (talk) 03:12, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Contributing cause of the war
editI was just reading Cascade-Olympic Natural History by Daniel Mathews, and on page 168 found this passage: "The Nez Perce War was touched off by white settlers plowing up camas prairies for pastures." Maybe someone wants to work this in to the text? Murderbike (talk) 22:12, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- never mind, took care of it. Murderbike (talk) 22:51, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- While you are working on this article, you may want to peek at the sources we used for the Nez Perce section of Appaloosa, it just went FA and I found some very good source material in the process, feel free to swipe! Montanabw(talk) 20:38, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Source material
editGang, if it helps, check out the sources used in history section of the article Appaloosa, we passed FA with it, and I did a bunch of the work on the Nez Perce section there, can vouch for the source material as passing WP:RS. Anyway, some of the info here slightly differs from what I found and used there, and so if you want to swipe, please feel free. Montanabw(talk) 03:22, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
