In Polynesian mythology, Ngaro is the food of the dead.
This came from [Encyclopedia Mythica] and is a misrepresentation of the facts of this case - the reference to 'ngaro' as a food of those who are no longer living comes from one folktale of one of the Māori tribes of the northern North Island, New Zealand. It would be a distortion therefore to say that 'ngaro' was the food of the dead in Māori 'mythology' let alone the wide field of 'Polynesian Mythology'. Kahuroa 01:34, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
