Source: "Alexandre Batta first learned the violin but one day, hearing Platel play the cello, he developed a passion for this instrument and abandoned one for the other." (p. 199) "Once under Platel's direction it was easy to make rapid progress because lessons were never given with more care, more precision, more method, etc." (p. 200)
