'Nigor Mortis' explanation'

The quote (taken from Trent D'Arby's album sleeve apparently), says "The name "Nigor Mortis" represents the state between rigor mortis and "vigor mortis", from the stiffness of a corpse to the vitality of life" - and I thought it was just a feeble attempt to gain press coverage by making a pun on 'the n-word' ?! There is no medical definition to be found through Google - except urban dictionary (and their offering is racially offensive).
