As the ODNB index page shows, the DNB didn't get the name right. He was indeed Russian. He was a Cambridge graduate but I haven't immediately found him on the Venn database. The ODNB article makes much more sense. Charles Matthews (talk) 19:14, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
