1. Is it well written?

   A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:

• Anyway to mention his brother Leo Diogenes? Also why wasn't Constantine Diogenes (son of Romanos IV) made a co-emperor?

• "After Alexios I Komnenos took the throne in 1081" --- There is an eleven year gap year of political happenings between 1071 and 1081. Can make some mention of what happen in the empire if not specifics about Nikephoros

• "Because he was a porphyrogenitos, being born to Romanos while he was still reigning, he arguably had more legitimacy than Alexios." - Please rephrase. Arguably by whose' standard?

• "In her Alexiad, Anna Komnene describes him" --- Can you mention she was Alexios' daughter?

• "Nikephoros twice attempted to assassinate" - Did he personally attempted to assassinate the emperor or were these paid assassins? It would explain the later sentence: "Alexios became suspicious of Nikephoros". I mean if Nikephoros was holding the weapon each time, Alexios would have to be quite a dunce to only suspect after the second attempt on his life.

• "Alexios then arrested Nikephoros" --- Any reason why Alexios still went ahead with the arrest despite his brother's investigation? Did he find out about Adrianos' betrayal?

• When did Nikephoros Diogenes die? There must be a historical agreement.
