I suggest merging the page Poetic diary with this page. In this article it states that "the frequent use of poems" is a staple of the genre, so there seems to be a significant overlap between the two articles. Several sources state that most Japanese literary diaries featured poetry in a significant way, and "nikki" itself is also often translated as "poetic diary." I think it would be an improvement to merge the articles, adding a section to this article to more thoroughly cover poetry within the scope of nikki bungaku. I have just noticed that one of the references on the Poetic Diary article actually links to a source that talks about nikki bungaku, so the article may be a duplicate.Mineffle (talk) 05:25, 26 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Support merge, but I also suggest that an English title should be used. WP articles should be written to be understood by in inquisitive and educated reader, but should not require knowledge of (in this case) Japanese, or other argot, however much this might be favoured by senmonka writers.
