She’s the Ambassador from Monsanto

edit

“Oh great, our State Department is pushing G.M. food. She’s the Ambassador from Monsanto.” What’s your response?

Nina Fedoroff: How do I answer him? My answer is: There’s almost no food that isn’t genetically modified. Genetic modification is the basis of all evolution.

Controversy

edit

Fedoroff is considered a 'population alarmist' by some groups. She has been quoted as saying “humans had exceeded the Earth's ‘limits of sustainability’." A quote from a recent PRI (Population Research Institute)article follows:

"What about the 6.8 billion the world already supports? the BBC asked her. “There are probably already too many people on the planet," Fedoroff replied." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.139.40.170 (talk) 18:38, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

And this makes here a 'population alarmist'? What "groups"? 148.177.1.211 (talk) 13:22, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bibliography

edit

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. Feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 06:21, 20 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
