Wrong citation for release date
editThe page quotes GameFAQs for the claim that the game was released in the US and EU in 1988 and Japan in 1989. This is a problem because A) GameFAQs is not a reliable source for release dates of arcade games, most of the time it simply lists the date from the copyright screen, and B) GameFAQs lists 1988 as the release year for all three regions, including Japan.
Fair use rationale for Image:Ninjagaidenarcade2.png
editImage:Ninjagaidenarcade2.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Lack of politeness
editWe can read at the history section:
Why do you need a citation that the checkpoint system made you re-do hard bits? Reach into you ass, pull out the stick, and play the game... I mean, realy, what kind a citation could you have?
I play this game since 1990 and can say that the stages aren't so immensely difficult. If it's because the two stages that the player has to fight a lot of enemies at once, you can see clearly that, when this happens, the bad guys are a little slower when they attack and also weaker, because you need only three hits or one thrown to kill them. The player, after losing a fight with a boss, is forced to play very hard stages again in the NES Trilogy.Brazilian Man (talk) 12:44, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Atari Lynx version
editIt wasn't a port of the arcade game, it was a separate build. The content really needs stripping out. I've restored the Atari Lynx article. Govvy (talk) 22:40, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
