The first definition is a real problem; close voicing and root position do NOT define 'ninth chord'. It can be any inversion and any position. This is terrible. In other types of 'ninth chord' below we're given inversions, for instance.

Under the first heading "Dominant Ninth," CMAJ9 is use as an example. As a major, is not a MAJ9 tonic?
Beethoven
editIs it correct that Beethoven was the first composer to use a ninth (in the Eroica)? deisenbe (talk) 21:37, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
All sharps in guitar music?
editI noticed that in the "Ninth and major ninth chords with sheet music and tab" picture, all of the accidentals are sharp, even where it would make more sense to use flats. It seems weird to write the C9 for example with an "A#" instead of a "Bb". Was this done in a program by somebody who doesn't really read sheet music? I'm sure more illustrative picture could be used. WillieBlues (talk) 00:13, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
"Add9 Chord Chart Guide for Guitarists" section is not relivent
editAT the very bottom of the page someone has included some Add9 chord guitar shapes, surely this has no place in this article? If no one objects I intend to delete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.67.115.215 (talk) 11:06, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
Sample video removed
editYouTube link for Chopin Op. 64 No. 1 is no longer available. Can somebody find a non-copyrighted version and change the link? Acarturk-e (talk) 18:00, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
