What? --Golbez 02:25, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I saw on FX last night a commerical for Nip/Tuck and it said "Nip/Tuck Hollywood". Might this be the name change? --User:Jme02067 10:42, 7 August 2007

I have also seen it advertised as Mc5Namara/Troy. LightningOffense 00:55, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The program is listed as being on at 10pm. 10pm WHERE? Which time zone/which market... can we assume that the entire world doesn't live in California? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.244.180.19 (talk) 16:39, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Season 5 Premiere Date?

edit

"Nip/Tuck is in production now for 22 new episodes, although it's unclear whether the 22 will be two seasons or considered one long, expanded season. Regardless, the 22 will not run consecutively. Season 5 will officially debut on October 30, 2007 according to Ryan Murphy, the apparent mastermind and creator of the ever so popular drama."

There's somewhere else in this article (at the beginning) where the date of the beginning of the next season is listed as October 23rd, 2007. So these two conflict. Neither site sources. The first appears to site a source, but the actual source refers to the length of the season, not when it starts.

The paragraph quoted above sites nothing for its assertions, and is a little odd, to be honest, especially the wording.

I was just wondering if anyone could cite the source, or clarify which information is more likely to be accurate. The Nip/Tuck web page on the FX Networks web site (under the Videos section) shows advertisements that say, simply October. JamisonK 03:19, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The only date citation I've seen is on tv.com. No one who is saying October 30 has cited a source yet, but I'm still looking. BigD527 06:19, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
The DVD has a sticker saying it is October 30. Problem solved. BigD527 02:38, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

What's the plot?

edit

"The show follows the lives of two plastic surgeons, Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon)." What's the show about? Is that it? --76.67.60.168 (talk) 14:07, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I heard about this show and came here to figure out what is was about, I still have little idea. Sirconnorstack (talk) 23:48, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

how hard is it to understand? i also find it hard to believe that this show has run for years, and yet you apparently have only heard of it now... 77.97.18.22 (talk) 20:05, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
edit

I just half watched an episode on Swedish channel SVT2 and I was struck by the repleteness of Scientology references. Since this article and the talk pages do not seem to bring this relationship to light, I am wondering why not? Was this related to this particular episode only? __meco (talk) 22:52, 5 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

There are some bonds with Scientology in the show, and they are noted here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu#Nip.2FTuck

Question is why there and not here, though. 83.251.29.124 (talk) 03:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Plot

edit

A brief introduction to the main plot and/or characters of the show would be nice at the beginning of the article... Just so people know from the start that it's not a show about --I don't know-- say a nice family home in the suburbs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.192.79.170 (talk) 20:54, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

season 5/season 6 mistakes (?) in intro

edit

the intro states: The fifth season premiered on October 30, 2007, and was to consist of 22 episodes,[4] making it the longest season of the show yet, with Joely Richardson returning for 15 of those episodes.[5] The remaining eight episodes of the 22-episode pick-up will air in January 2009. The show inspired the creation of the plastic surgery reality show Dr. 90210.[6]

Eight new episodes (season six) will premiere in January 2009. A final 19 episodes were picked up by FX, and will be split into two halves airing in both January 2010 and January 2011.

now, i know that not all of season 5 aired, and the rest are to be aired in january 2009, as the second part of season 5 and not season 6. so how can season 6 air at the same time? if someone can sort this, maybe with references, it would help a lot. i would, but i have no idea where to find this info, as this is what i use wikipedia for!! thanks. oh, and just to be picky, there are only ever 2 halves and 19 can't be split in half in this instance, they're not going to air half an episode. or maybe they will... hehe! 77.97.18.22 (talk) 20:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where is the article?

edit

This article is nothing more than a TV Guide entry. Where is the plot outline or any info more than air times and cast? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.181.253.68 (talk) 18:24, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Number of Episodes

edit

Okay, can whoever keeps changing the episode count to 81 please, please stop doing it? It's not accurate information until the 81st episode has aired, even if by season's end there will be 81 episodes. As of right now there are 77, as of tomorrow night there are 78, and the information you keep posting will not be accurate until March 3. It's standard procedure to only list the current number of episodes aired, not projected number of episodes to air, so please. Thanks! BigD527 (talk) 17:11, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why nip-tuck?

edit

I'd like to know origin of name ... I am not english and it is not in dictionaries. Thanks. Does it mean to "nip and tuck" the fat? And whatever the origin is, is it obvious to "english people"? 84.16.123.194 (talk) 22:27, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yeah. 'Nip and tuck' is a euphemism for having plastic surgery. 90.194.162.85 (talk) 01:27, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

orphan article on Wilber Troy

edit

The character Wilber Troy has an article that looks lonely- no projects, poor writing, etc. Hopefully a Nip/Tuck fan can clean it up and assess it for encyclopedic content. It might need merging/redirecting. tedder (talk) 02:23, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lame.

edit

So, should I start preparing an entry in WP:LAME for this, or should I just fullprotect it for a few weeks while everyone discusses it here? --Golbez (talk) 04:16, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? —Mike Allen 04:26, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh if you're talking about what season aired last; There’s nothing to discuss, it’s been resolved. Thank you. —Mike Allen 04:31, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Clearly, it hasn't. You saying so doesn't make it true; the fact that there has been zero talk page discussion on this is rather annoying. --Golbez (talk) 04:52, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Why hasn't it? I merged the contents (sources) back to the Nip/Tuck (season 6) from the season 7 article and redirected it to season 6. I was in talks with Dr. Vicodine here. The DVD is out and all the episodes from season 6 and 7 has been placed on there. Apparently the DVD (primary source) out ranks other reliable sources. I don't feel like pursuing this any further so I reverted my revert and we can all move on. All I can say that *I* won't be edit waring (never was) about this. —Mike Allen 05:13, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
All I could see from the article is you reverting someone, and then claiming the war was over (I had not seen your self-revert) so you can understand my skepticism. I was of course not aware of a discussion elsewhere. --Golbez (talk) 14:29, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
I edited the article yesterday back to Season 6 as the final season and I included a source that confirms that Season 6 IS indeed the final season. So the matter has pretty much been resolved unless you find it necassary to continue a dispute, Golbez. I'm assuming you just weren't aware of my recent edit and the new source, so it's understandable. However, MikeAllen has not reverted my last edit and has agreed that the matter has been resolved. Is there anything else? Geeky Randy (talk) 23:25, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is the info that needs to go into the fields for season 7 as follows. (episode #, name of episode, air date, description) 1. Dan Daly - January 6, 2010 - When Sean and Christian win a prestigious award from their alma mater, Sean recalls their college years. A new patient who self-mutilates wants reconstructive surgery.

4. Sheila Carlton - January 27, 2010 - Christian has a crisis of conscience when Kimber's mother, Brandie (MELANIE GRIFFITH), visits Los Angeles. Complications arise as Sean prepares for his trip to Africa.

5. Virginia Hayes - February 3, 2010 - A teenage girl (SANDRA VERGARA) seeks out Sean and Christian for answers about her late father, Escobar Gallardo, stirring tremendous guilt within Sean.

6. Dr. Griffin - February 10, 2010 - Secrets are revealed as Sean and Christian begin psychotherapy together. Liz and Matt divulge their own confidences when they each join a therapy session.

7. Christian Troy II - February 17, 2010 - Sean and Christian make a unique attempt to market their surgical practice to boost a lagging clientele. Christian's unconscious existential crises come to light.

8. Walter & Edith Krieger - February 24, 2010 - Julia visits Sean and Christian in Los Angeles to share life-changing news -- and rejects romantic advances from both men. Matt prepares to get married, but a past love shows up.

9. Hiro Yoshimura - March 3, 2010 - In the series finale, Sean and Christian reflect on their loving, turbulent and decades-long relationship. Recurring guest star FAMKE JANSSEN (X-Men, Made) appears as Ava Moore. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.13.127.41 (talk) 01:36, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Episodes 97 & 98

edit

I don't know how to do anything on here, but someone should switch episodes 98 Christian Troy II and 97 Dr. Griffin because that's the correct order. I don't have an internet source to verify that, but I do have the season 6 dvd which states Season 6, Episode 16, Christian Troy II aired 2/10/10 and episode 17 of the same season was Dr. Griffin which aired on 2/17/10. 72.128.4.168 (talk) 02:40, 23 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Italian channel

edit

Hi, I know it's not a big issue, but the italian channel is wrong. You wrote here that the series was broadcasted by Raidue in Italy, but I can remember extremely well watching it on Italia 1 (it was after Grey's Anatomy, if you want to know :) ). I have also given a look on the internet, there is no source linking Nip/tuck to Raidue, while there are plenty linking it to Italia 1 (here are three of them; they're in italian, actually, but they state plainly that it was that channel that bought the rights for the series http://www.lanostratv.it/serie-tv-americane/niptuck-finalmente-torna-stanotte-su-italia1/ http://www.blogapuntate.it/post/13816/italia-1-sospende-niptuck http://www.niptuckplanet.com/ ). Well, it's not a huge mistake, but it is a mistake. Sorry for my English mistakes, I am writing quite fast and this is not my language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.48.214.105 (talk) 00:28, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Network information contradictory

edit

It first says that the show aired 2003-2010 on FX, then in the next sentence that it aired on UPN, The WB and The CW between 2004 and 2010. Does this mean it aired in syndication, or is this completely made-up? I'm from the UK so I don't know, but my understanding is that UPN, WB and CW were/are teen channels and would never air such graphic content about characters in their 40s, so I'm pretty doubtful. But I don't know for sure. I also couldn't find any information online that it's ever aired on the CW. But, again, as I don't know for sure I don't want to delete or amend anything. Can someone please clarify? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.12.163.138 (talk) 03:54, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
