It is a Lewis acid or electrophile, as in the aromatic nitration reaction. It is best to specify that one is talking about Lewis acids before just saying "acidic", which could be misinterpreted as Bronsted acidity. (which is obviously not true of NO2+ since it has no hydrogen.) Dirac66 (talk) 20:22, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
