G'day, per this link on the RAAF website [1], it appears that this unit may have been re-raised, and renamed "No. 3 Security Forces Squadron". Can anyone confirm this, and if so what date it was re-raised and renamed? Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 07:07, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I think that's correct. The RAAF merged the Airfield Defence Guards and RAAF police into a larger number of squadrons a few years ago. I don't think that the relevant articles have been updated - from memory, when I looked into it the details of the changes were pretty obscure. Nick-D (talk) 10:27, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Nick, I have found a couple of references, but they aren't great, unfortunately. I've moved the article now to match the other two squadrons. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 12:26, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for that. From memory, I don't think that there was a comprehensive article in the RAAF's in-house newspaper about this change, and the non-official defence media generally has little interest in the non-flying parts of the service. Nick-D (talk) 22:19, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
