Thanks for noting this. I've found an interesting passage about the problem in Jones, Stephen F. (2005), Socialism in Georgian Colors: The European Road to Social Democracy, 1883-1917. Harvard University Press, ISBN0674019024, p. 310, note 26.
"There is some dispute about his exact birth date (with different sources suggesting 1868, 1869, or 1870). Changing birthdays for various reasons was common practice at the time. Zhordania in his memoirs claims he was born in 1868."
