Ranking

edit

The article stated that NWU's poor ranking performance compared to Uct, Maties and Tuks was due to its smaller student numbers. This is rubbish as NWU has a large student population and there is little correlation between student size and performance. Just look at Brown. I removed this statement. Any objections? 18:27, 15 August 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.18.208.162 (talk)

The current entry regarding ranking claims the university is "18th best university of sub-Saharan Africa" when the source says noting of the kind. It says it is the 18th most searched on the web and says nothing whatsoever as to its quality. 108.249.235.44 (talk) 00:21, 30 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

I know that many universities are proud of their rankings, but there is compelling evidence that rankings are not good for the global south https://www.igi-global.com/gateway/chapter/324324 or DOI 10.37941/PB/2023/1 perhaps there is a need to also link to some critical work on the University Ranking Industry?

History

edit

I find that the focus of this section is on the Puk, while the merger partner, University of North West, is ignored. This section seems biased and should incorporate the institution's shared history.PurpleDuke 17:45, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

The University has a fabulous choir. The conductor is Kobus Venter.--Stephanie Do (talk) 07:11, 4 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
