This is, mostly, factually correct, although very tongue in cheek and non-encyclopedic.
Needs Wikifying. Are suburbs and districts worthy of inclusion en mass. Most would be POV and unnoteworthy. Swilly is noteworthy in terms of Plymouth though. Stamford spiney 16:13, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
Somewhat surprisingly Swilly article already exists, more advanced than this, therefore merge and delete. Stamford spiney 10:53, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
- I redirected to Swilly. Here's the text, if anyone wants to merge it. -- Kjkolb 04:08, September 4, 2005 (UTC)
- Formerly known as Swilly,it was named North Prospect to mask the bad reputaion it had in Plymouth. A home for drug dealers, burglars and dole cheats, there isn't a day goes by when a serious crime isn't committed in the area or from someone living in the area. Many houses have been burnt out or boarded up and the remainder go for very low prices.A very rough area that is slowly losing out in the crime polls to areas such as Barne Barton and Stonehouse. The residents are confident though, that with a bit of money poured into their area(from the local benefits agency),that they could soon return to their prominent position of number one crime spot within Plymouth.
swilly has a bad reputation to plymouth standards but if you compare with any other major city it is very tame. with almost zero gun crime, very very few street robberies (usually kids on kids), and mostly petty thefts and low level violence (kicking out time punch ups) swilly carries a reputation that is more urban legend that anything else.
