Grampian News

edit

Grampian News/Today launched in the late sixties as Grampian main news programme broadcasting every Monday to Friday from 10mins. This was changed in January 1978 to Grampian Today, which broadcast each week day, Monday/Tuesday for 5mins while Wed - Friday was 35mins. This development took place after Ted Brocklebank became Head of News in 1977, were he pioneered Grampian's use of Electronic News Gathering (ENG) cameras, becoming the first ITV company to use such cameras which helped the development of North tonight.
