Recent Revert War
editPlease leave the formatting as is (see here). WP:DRNC is for when a discussion has actually taken place and no consensus was reached. MOS:HEAD states that the formatting should be as it is now.
To both editors, this feud is silly and wastes people's time. The manual of style is clear but you've also both violated WP:3RR which would require some sort of block on both of you. If you run into this issue again, start up a conversation on the talk page or ask someone else to come in and give their opinion. When it comes down to it, when you're absolutely correct, bringing an unbiased third party to agree with you isn't hard at all. I believe both of you wish to make Wikipedia the best it can be but arguments like this don't do anything for anyone. OlYellerTalktome 19:16, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- While I agree with your comments, I'd like to say that no 3RR rule has been broken on either side. Yes, the edit war was inappropriate, but it requires 4 reverts to break the 3RR, and both of us have only made 3. Jenuk1985 | Talk 19:23, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Ah yes, you're correct. I never get myself into positions where I do anymore than one revert and always assumed that the third was the ticket to blocking. Sorry to assume that. Still though, I back the rest of my message. OlYellerTalktome 19:28, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Chersky vs Cherskii
editPlease see http://www.faculty.uaf.edu/fffsc/station.html the University of Alaska website. Chersky is the name of the village nearby and is quite separate from the Research Station. Sergei A. Zimov, the Director of the station, writes the name as Cherskii. In view of this I am reverting the title to the former spelling. Please discuss if you disagree.
