Orphaned references in Northern Woods and Water Route
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Northern Woods and Water Route's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Review problems
editPlease be careful with your reviews. I see some major problems with this article. Per WP:MOS the heading should be "Travel route" not "Travel Route". Secondly, the uber-long paragraph in "History" needs to be split up. I'm not sure a "Further reading" section is appropritate. Also, transclude the review page in the talk page. --Rschen7754 (T C) 22:44, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- The review page is transcluded now.
- The heading has been re-named.
- The history section is in paragraphs.
- As per WP layout the Further reading section has been renamed extra reading. It has been left as there are paper sources which have been written by the NWWR association itself.
- Thank you for your comments I am not sure that these classify as major problems but rather probably as minor.
- If you have any further problems with point scores for the contest just plunk any articles back to GA reassessment that you want to, that would be a OK with me. I am not only writing articles for the contest and for points. It doesn't matter to me where in SK I focus my attention upon because I enjoy SK and I enjoy writing/improving articles on wikipedia. And writing/improving articles seems to be the initial intent of what the contest is/was promoting. Now I am not sure what it is doing.SriMesh | talk 01:36, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Some of these small areas will provide some services to travelers, other will have none. I should find a way to put this into prose in the article proper. Hmmm. Unless I drive on the route I am not sure which services which places provide. The cities would provide all services, probably all the towns would also provide services. The unincorporated places some will and some won't provide servies and they will vary depending upon length of time and distance between places and what they feature - gas or hotel or store but rarely all of them. It would involve a lot of peacock words to put this information in so I did not put it in till I have the facts... The fact available is that there is a community there.
- Done "on the MB PR 283 west" sounds awkward and so does "travel continues south along the MB PTH 10"
- Done "The Pas a town of about 5,500 has not yet incorporated as a city": add commas after Pas and 5,500
- Done " is the largest village since The Pas." sounds awkward -- The village of this size is a better destination for travelers in regards to services in comparison to an uninincorporated area which may be a locality of fewer than 10 residents or a hamlet of fewer than 100 residents. If it was a village over 100 residents and just lost population to become a hamlet then the area may have some services available. I don't have a fact citation for the exact services available at every placename, but that is why I mention them. Maybe in time wikipedia editors will add that at this place such and such service is available.
- Done "Sclater and Pine River are also found in Mountain (South) RM The NWWR is to the east of Duck Mountain Provincial Park and Duck Mountain Provincial Forest and west of Lake Winnipegosis." is a run-on sentence
- Done Do not use hyphens to indicate rotue junctions such as in "MB PTH 10-MB PR 582" use the word "and" instead
- Done The sentence "Eddystone found in Alonsa, Manitoba RM is west of Ebb and Flow Lake" sounds awkward
- Done "at the intersection of , MB PR 418 east, PTH 6, and MB PR 419 west": Is there supposed to be something after "of" and before the comma?
- Done Try to add more descriptive information about the road itself to the Travel Route section -- As in the history comment below, I didn't want the article to be too SK heavy, as I know where the info is for that segement. So will try to glean a bit more about the route starting in the other provinces first off.
- Done Remove redundant wikilinks in Travel Route section and combine many of the short, choppy sentences, also check grammar
- Done There are too many redlinks in the route description. If an article is not likely to be created to these links, remove the link. -- OK will re-look at what has been wikilinked
- Is there pictures of the actual road itself that can be added to the article rather than of features and attractions along the road? -- I found only the one road sign on MB PT 10, which is why I went with the Northern Woods and Water pictures of the Northern Woods and Water Route, and the pictures of the communities which the NWWR passes through.
- Done Is there any more history of the road that can be added? -- will check I know for SK that there may be, as well that is where I know how to research, but I didn't want to make the article too SK heavy. So will start with the other provinces to see what can be found for them first.
- Done Is the Route connectors from west to east table nessecary? Can this information be more clearly presented in the Travel Route section? -- Ok I will do that, and probably will bold the first instance of the name as it is kind of like an alternate name of the route in that segment. I made the section to make it easy to see the names of the highways which connect, and their length respectively, but will try to do it in the prose as well, and it will add more info about the NWWR proper to the prose of the article as well.
- Done In the intersections table, for intersections where more than one road is present, add slashes between each separate road
- Done Remove File:AB-Veteran HWY.png, File:Buffalo hwy.png, and File:Manitoba Highway 5.png as there is no fair use rationale for these images to be used in this article -- I had done so many fair use rationales that day, I thought I caught these ones also, ah well fixed MB hwy 5 the same way as the other MB shields and removed the other two.

Rewrite (route discrepancy)
editAccording to the official NWWR website, there is a discrepancy between the route mapped out and the one described on the Wikipedia page. Notable differences are:
Alberta
- NWWR follows AB 2 from AB 49 at Rycroft, through Peace River and High Prairie, eastward.
- Alternate NWRR follows AB 49 between Rycroft and Donnelly.
- AB 49 & AB 2A between Donnelly and Triangle is not part of the NWRR.
The Official Alberta Road Map confirms the above mentioned routing.
Manitoba
- NWWR follows PTH 10 from The Pas to PTH 20 at Cowan, then PTH 20 through Dauphin to PTH 5 at Ochre River.
- Alternate NWWR follows PTH 10 to PR 274 at Ethelbert, then PR 274 to PTH 20 near Fork River.
- PTH 10 & PTH 5 between Ethelbert, through Dauphin, to Ochre River is not part of the NWRR.
The Official Manitoba Road Map confirm the above mentioned routing.

Alt. route from Cowan to Dauphin: correction?
editIt seems to me part of this alternate route is listed backwards. It says:
