Chromosomes

The article currently sates that "The Y chromosome is present" However the source provided (Bagheri-Fam et al, 2012) does not make this claim.

It reads:

"The only species of this genus with an XY/XX karyotype and for which the presence of the Sry gene could be demonstrated is E. fuscocapillus (Just et al. 1995)".

Additionally other sources suggest that Talpinus does not have a Y chromosome, and instead has two Xs (for example: Kolomiets et al, 2010 and Mulugeta et al, 2016.

I therefore believe that the article is currently incorrect, possibly due to a mix-up with another of the species from the same genus (such as fuscocapillus) Ylftor (talk) 23:03, 14 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
