I'm going to re-add the so-called "POV" line about restaurants, as it's patently true. As an example, check the following page and see exactly how many restaurants have an odd number post code or are in north county Dublin:

Out of the first 160 restaurants, _1_ is on the Northside. I gave up at that stage, my point made.

The link you provide is for the Southside restaurants, so naturally you would expect to find few, if any, Northside establishments listed.

Is it the super-sensitivity, dare I say reverse-snobbery of the northsider that results in the exceptionally greater length of this article vis-a-vis the Southside article? This situation being primarily the result of deletion of additions to the latter which seem too reflect the general consensus that the northside "has a dearth of some amenities", perhaps, in the interests of educating the outsider, the northsider should have more confidence in himself and allow the Southside article to develop? The reverse snobbery does you no favours and serves merely to highlight the bitterness northsiders feel towards their better-off neighbours. This sort of stuff should be left in the past where it belongs. The articles on this site should give a fair impression to non-Irish people. Boldymumbles 13:49, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

DCU

How can two roads with different names be the same ,road. Glasnevin doesnt extend past the start of collins ave (Gnevin 17:04, 3 October 2006 (UTC))

Also the dublin street guide issued by the osi , has the word whitehall printed on top of DCU (Gnevin 17:16, 3 October 2006 (UTC))

Ballymun begins where the social housing begins

So DCU is either in Whitehall or Glasnevin, either way it is not in Ballymun, which is an artificially created social housing estate built by the Irish state around the mid 1960's from the northernmost lands formerly owned by the Albert College.

How can you possibly argue that Glasnevin avenue is not in Glasnevin?, it is at the very least, the boundary between Glasnevin and Ballymun.

I propose adding Dublin's Central Library (now in the ILAC Shopping Centre, with Business Centre, Language Centre and Music Library, and soon to be a feature building, taking over the former Ambassador Cinema.

Far north

Have places like Rush, Lusk and so forth (even Swords) reallz been thought of as Northside - always saw it as more north suburbs, really. 213.147.114.4 19:44, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Lost localities

This is perhaps not the right article to startwith but I was wondering if anyone in the Irish Wikipedia could do small articles on former villages or "lost areas". I'm thinking of such as Censure, which used to be a small settlement off Carrackbrack Road out on the Howth Peninsula, Feltrim, once a respectable little village south opf Malahide and my favourite, Pass-if-you-can in north west Dublin. Change of article name

The change made - without any discussion - does not make sense. I'm sure it was made in good faith, but by someone who was not familiar with the topic. It is "the Northside" - and not "Northside Dublin"! Unless anyone objects, I propose to reverse it (and Southside Dublin too). Northside (Dublin) covered well the correct usage, and the fact that this is Dublin's "Northside", as other cities have such also. SeoR (talk) 10:23, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
