A matter of spelling?Northwest vs North-West Province

Or... does it make any difference? Not to be too pedantic, but perhaps North-West is more appropriate, as that's how it's written in §61.(1) of the constitution. --Fotang 10:25, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure. The constitution also calls the Adamawa Province by the French spelling (Adamaoua), which goes against most English-language sources. We need to at least be sure that a proper redirect is set up. -- BrianSmithson 14:18, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't know either way, all the maps say Northwest. However, it is important that the title and the text are consistent. If you have reason for it to be North-West or North West it should be nominated for a move to that title first, and if the consensus is to move then we need to systematically go through all the references to Northwest including on the maps on Cameroon, Provinces of Cameroon, Southwest Province and elsewhere. I will revert the in-text changes for the time being, not because I think it is wrong but to keep things consistent. Your edits are preserved in the history meanwhile. Would someone let me know when a source is neccessary, or where to add a picture. There's a quite some material (stats, maps,...) from a public study of the province. --Fotang 12:28, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Minor corrections

corrected spelling from Ngo-Ke[n]tunjia to Ngoketunjia.

This province was previously made up of six divisions...: changed. Were actually five. (Fondong was not a division.)

[Achu is] undoubtably the most widely consumed delicacy across the country: removed. The most widely consumed delicacy in the country could be ndole, or corn fufu, but how can we say?

Is there an official designation in Cameroon between village/town/city? Some other African editors have gotten upset when certain locales was "downgraded" in Wikipedia from a city to a town, so if there's some official designation, it's often best to use that. In Francophone Cameroon, I believe (speaking from memory) the distinction is between commune urbaine (city), commune rurale (town), and no commune distiction at all (village). The "locals" say that, but is it really so? last I heard was that a project to harness electricity from there isn't feasible; but some people think that claim is a conspiracy(!). Who knows?

Why I deleted the gallery.

Wikipedia is not a gallery. These pictures are unexplained and barely any of them have captions. They'd be better served in a new culture section of the page. Also, there was an abundance of simillar looking pictures. If you think this was a mistake or want help reworking the section let me know :) Mcguy15 (talk) 22:16, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
