editNo problem with proposed name change - but to change the name we need to move the article. Cheers - Williamborg (Bill) 02:13, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Proposed move
edit- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved. I have created Norske Selskab as a redirect, though. (non-admin closure) Jenks24 (talk) 21:05, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Norwegian Society → Norske Selskab –
This group has a historic name and I don't know if its English name has ever had much use (though it might for all I know). Still, I propose this name change so people can give their opinions one way or the other. __meco (talk) 22:51, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose the name certainly exists in English, see sources added. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:36, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose per above, the name commonly used in English should be preferred and there's no obvious evidence that Norske Selskab is widely used in English. --Tyrannus Mundi (talk) 21:49, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose The English name has an established usage in English language reliable sources ([1])—I'm curious why you would nominate this without checking and then say "I don't know though it might". Certainly performing a simple Google Books search, even with figuring out a limiter to remove false positives as I posted, would have taken less time than did formatting the requested move template and writing the nomination.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:39, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure. I write nominations pretty fast. I didn't think of it, simply. I know that is lame, but I sometimes don't give enough consideration to perspectives that warrant consideration. __meco (talk) 12:52, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
