editI excised the sentences "It can be noted that Nova tends to have more ad blocks than other stations. However the total number of ads played is significantly less than other commercial FM stations." These two claims are not NPOV, unless there is reference support. If there is a reference available which supports these claims, then the sentences should be reinstated. Until then, they need to be excluded. Manning 04:34, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think the phrase you're looking for is 'unsupported truism', not NPOV. Gorman 08:41, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
"....demographic of youth who were embracing the commercialised anti-pop movement fronted by such artists as Wolfmother, but for....."
Im pretty sure WOLFMOTHER weren't being played on any radio station (If even formed) when NOVA 96.9 went to air. Another example needs to be found. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.135.63.75 (talk • contribs) 21:39, 23 May 2006
- Agreed -- Chuq 11:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe a better phrasing would be "....demographic of youth who were embracing non "manufactured" pop & dance music by such artists as "Supermen Lovers", "Gorillaz" and "Avril Lavigne"....." as the phrase anti-pop isn't really defined.
- I would argue that Avril Lavigne is the epitome of commercialised pop. Also, when I cast my mind back, I can only remember a few of Nova's startup tunes - Superman Lovers was definitely there, so were Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers. They also played a lot of rock, but I wasn't into it back then - I think The Superjesus, Grinspoon and Spiderbait were all favourites. Gorman 08:41, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'd also suggest mentioning the very high percentage of "New" music, though I don't have statistics as it is a main difference from it's competitors. - 149.135.63.75 20:53, 16 June 2006(UTC)

Callsign
editWhat's their callsign? Does anyone know? It can't be 2NOVA, too many letters.
- I don't think Nova has their own callsign, but it should be checked up Brennerdlinger 06:48, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
First Song Played?
editFrom my memory it was Christine Anu's 'Sunshine on a Rainy Day', could someone please verify/research what the first song ever aired on Nova was? to add to the trivia section. 203.164.47.11
Substantial Changes and Content Removal
editHello,
In approximately 24 hours I will begin a substantial set of edits to the Nova and DMG related articles on Wikipedia to remove sections that:
- Contain changing schedule information.
- Remove unreferenced information if a reference cannot be found.
- Remove sections that read as advertisements.
I will also be doing the following:
- Introduce a common format across the Nova FM Stations articles.
- Write up new sections on the stations permanent programming.
- Provide external sources for unreferenced content.
- Requesting DMG Radio's assistance through staff at Nova 106.9 in Brisbane, in finding external sources for content.
If you have any concerns about this, please let me know either here, or on my talk page, or both. Pursey 15:34, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- This has now been done. Nova 106.9's talk page has some more info on this. Pursey Talk | Contribs 13:24, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Neutrality of Language
editI have added the NPOV:Language template to this page. I'm not a regular Wikipedia contributor, and don't have significant knowledge of the subject matter of this article, however statements like "Nova is generally the FM station of choice" and "Smallzy's Surgery receives a *good* 10%" seem to me to be value-laden statements.
