Lead image accuracy
editI understand that the old lead image was removed due to legal concerns, but I have doubts that the new image is accurate. While it is CC licensed, it comes from DeviantArt user MarcusBurns1977, who likes to recreate images of Cold War era firearms. While some of these are reasonably accurate, like the OTS-21 (compare his recreation vs. an actual photograph), some are highly inaccurate, like the GM6Lynx (recreation vs. actual photos). There is absolutely no reason to believe that this image is a truthful depiction of the nuclear briefcase, considering that this artist has almost certainly never seen one and has a weak track record for accuracy anyways. As such, I'll remove the image. InvisibleUp (talk) 06:08, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- A potential source for a new lead image is https://nsarchive.gwu.edu/briefing-book/nuclear-vault/2023-07-09/presidential-football-eisenhower-george-w-bush/part-iii-photos. These were released by the George W. Bush Presidential Library under the FOIA, which should make them public domain, but I can't verify this. InvisibleUp (talk) 06:25, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
"President"
editShouldn't this be consistently capitalized? Desmond Ravenstone (talk) 13:16, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
