Adding detail to LPNA change

edit

Hello, I am working as a paid consultant to suggest a few changes to this article as part of my work at Beutler Ink for LEVICK on behalf of iconectiv. I will not be making any changes myself, but would like to propose material for other editors to review. If it looks OK, I ask that another editor move it to the live article. The article update is below and essentially just adds a bit more detail to the article about the process of changing LPNAs from Neustar to iconectiv.

New language

On March 26, 2015 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the recommendation of the North American Numbering Council (NANC) that iconectiv serve as the next local number portability administrator (LNPA), replacing Neustar.[1][2] The FCC stated it based its decision on the company's "experience administering sensitive numbering systems"[2] and cost savings.[3]

Following this, the North American Portability Management, LLC (NAPM), with Commission oversight, negotiated the terms of a Master service agreement (MSA) with iconectiv.[1][3] The MSA was submitted to the FCC for review and approval in March 2016.[4]

I envision this passage replacing this sentence in the article: "In 2015, the FCC awarded the contract for administration of the Number Portability Administration Center to Telcordia Technologies after 18 years of management by Neustar." Looking forward to hearing what other editors think. Thanks! Heatherer (talk) 21:48, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Done with minor changes. Tonystewart14 (talk) 19:01, 17 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
