Page numbers in citations
editBoth |page=
and |pages=
cannot be used together in the same citation. Use |page=
only if you are citing a single page and |pages=
only if you are citing multiple pages. Do not use either for the number of pages in the work. See Template:Cite_book/doc#In-source_locations. —Chris Capoccia T⁄C 12:39, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
B12 Prevention Unit Error?
editThe article currently states the following:
> It has been recommended for the elderly to supplement 50 mg a day in order to prevent deficit from occurring.
50mg? Are you sure?
My senior daily multivitamin contains 25 micrograms of B12, which is 1000% of the RDA.
My sub-lingual megadose B12 contains 1.2mg per dropperful, which is 48000% of the RDA.
In the Toxicity section, The Linus Pauling institute reports that "Doses as high as 2 mg (2,000 μg) daily by mouth or 1 mg monthly by intramuscular (IM) injection have been used to treat pernicious anemia without significant side effects". Evidently, 2mg is considered a high dose, but is still 25 times less than that recommended here.
50mg, as stated in the article, would be 2000000% (2 million %) of the RDA.
It looks to me like this is a unit mistake, and that "50mg" should be 50micrograms, which is 1000 times less. However, the reference given is pay-per-view. I do not have access, so I cannot confirm that the Wikipedia author has made a copying error (which is what I suspect). It would be nice if someone with access could check this.

- Yes. Replaced all mg with µg. David notMD (talk) 22:49, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
Horrible, horrible, horrible article
edit90% of this is general filler that could be deleted and instead have a link to the individual articles about each vitamin. David notMD (talk) 22:50, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- Reduced article by 50%, but still horrible mess. For sections deleted, some citations were animal studies, yet the editor interpreted those as relevant to people. In addition, the article attempts to cover only a few of the nutrients involved in cognition. And that badly. Best approach would be to delete everything and start over. Added some work from my sandbox.
editHello,
I am very new to wikipediea and am currently editing this article as part of my WikiProject for Eng102. I have recently added some stuff that I have been working on in my sandbox and it would be very helpful if someone could take a look and let me know what they think. Thanks Hayley.mahoney (talk) 04:33, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
